COVID Update 1 July

1st July 2021Mrs L Rayne

As you will be aware from media reports we continue to see a rise in cases within schools.  Since I last wrote to you we have had a further 12 cases across the school in all three year groups.

In addition we have seen a significant rise in the numbers of both staff and students being asked to self isolate as a result of contacts with positive cases outside of school. There has also been a rise in the numbers of staff with children who have been sent home from school to self isolate.

I continue to ask that all students take twice weekly lateral flow tests as requested. In addition can I ask that you remind your child to continue to wear face coverings on both public and school transport as requested as well as on corridors and in communal spaces in school.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to update you following last week’s letter regarding the recent rise in the number of positive cases of Covid-19 since the start of the month.

I am pleased to report that following additional testing only two further cases have been confirmed.

As you are aware, testing is an effective way of finding and isolating any possible new cases and we ask that all students continue to take twice weekly lateral flow tests as requested.
