Remembering Grease!

28th April 2026Leanne Johnston

As our Year 11 and Year 13 students move into the final preparation phase for their upcoming exams, we find ourselves taking a moment to look back at the absolute highlight of last half-term: our spectacular sell out school production of Grease!

The production featured a talented ensemble cast drawn from every year group, creating a truly magical atmosphere on stage. This collaboration was more than just a musical; it was a perfect embodiment of the core values held here at The King Edward VI School. Across three unforgettable performances, our audiences were left spellbound by the sheer level of talent and energy displayed by our young performers.

While the performers shone on stage, perhaps even more remarkable was the work happening behind the scenes. The entire backstage and technical production was supported by a dedicated student crew. Their vision, attention to detail, and professionalism, both throughout the long rehearsal process and during the live shows, is a true testament to the exceptional skills and commitment of our students.

A Huge Thank You to Our Creative Team

Finally, we must extend a special thank you to our brilliant creative team. Led by the experienced Grease! veteran, Mrs Anderson, and ably supported by Miss Bowman, Mrs Harrison and Mr Hughes; the team’s collective enthusiasm brought the show to life.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to such a fantastic success. It was, without a doubt, a production to remember! The memories created through this production will last a lifetime; a truly wonderful legacy for Mrs Anderson.

Sixth Form Admission 2026

27th April 2026Leanne Johnston

All applications to Sixth Form are conditional and pending release of GCSE results where students demonstrate they have met the entry criteria for each individual subject.

Please note that any student who does not achieve at least a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will be required to resit these subjects in Sixth Form. This is not negotiable and a condition of all Post 16 education. Resitting of English and/or Maths will take priority over A Level subjects; the resit options will sit in Pool A and Pool D. Students should review their subject choices and the Option Pools if this is likely to be an issue.

Sixth Form enrolment will take place on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 August in the Upper School Hall.  We are delighted that we have had an unprecedented number of applications this year and all students wishing to return to Sixth Form for September 2026 must enroll in person on one of these days before 2pm to confirm their subject choices.  If your child is not available to enrol in person, they will need to email Mr Quinlan at [email protected] before Monday 20 July.
