Thank you to all parents, carers and students who attended this event. If you would like to review the presentations for English, Maths and Science, please follow the ‘Year 9 October 2022’ link on this page.
We were delighted to find out this week that Amy Stokoe has been selected to be part of the ESSKIA team for the World Schools’ Championships in Turkey between 11th and 19th February 2023.
The Team England delegation will be made up of 20 ski racers (plus staff) who have been selected from schools all over the country. A good number will go on to represent England or GB at higher levels in the sport.
 Well done Amy a fantastic achievement.

Ryan Davies, Bertie Marr and Will DeVere Owen came third in the National Road Relays event. Well done.

Our student Amy had a busy summer training and working as well as doing her PE and art graphics coursework. She also had some amazing news that she’s on the long list to go to the Youth Olympics in January 2023 in Italy. Only 4 girls and 4 boys, under 18, will represent GB in alpine skiing at this event. We are absolutely thrilled for her. Well done Amy!

Our parents’ evening will be held in a virtual format on a programme which works along the same principle as video conferencing software such as Zoom or Google Meet. We believe this is the best option, as it gives parents the opportunity to meet and see staff.Â
Appointments will be limited to five minutes, so please be aware that the system actually cuts the connection after this time. Should there be any connection issues, these will be followed up by the school the next day

Letter for Parents/Carers with a student in Groups KINGED

Former student David Sanderson was one of eight Grenadier Guards to carry the Queen on her final journey.
David attended The King Edward Vl school before leaving at 16 to join the Army Foundation College in Harrogate. By the time he was 17 David was stationed at the regimental headquarters of the Grenadier Guards at Wellington barracks, first joining the second battalion and then moving to the first battalion, the Queen’s Division, like his late grandfather.
19-year-old David was selected to be one of the eight soldiers from the Queen’s Company 1st Battalion, Grenadier Guards, who bore the oak casket in both London and Windsor. David was positioned at the front on the right-hand side of the casket.
The enormity of the role is hard to comprehend and the soldiers have been praised for carrying out their duty while watched by billions around the world. The dignity and poise shown by David throughout that service was hugely impressive and the school community is so proud of his achievement.

At The King Edward VI School, our aim is;
 “To foster academic and personal development in a caring and challenging environment so that each individual can achieve his or her potential and become an accomplished student”.
For this to happen, students must be safe, attend well and uphold high standards of engagement. The following policies are written and enacted to ensure that students can reach their potential.
- Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy
- Attendance Policy
- Behaviour and Exclusions Policy
- Anti – bullying policyÂ
