In January this year, six of our year 10 Modern Foreign Language and Music students teamed up with the aim of creating an original French pop song and accompanying music video to enter in a national competition organised by Francophonie UK in association with the Institut français du Royaume-Uni and supported by TV5Monde. Their song ‘J’adore la musique’ was selected by the national jury and, along with the other finalists, our students were invited to a virtual celebration of La Fête de la Musique on Wednesday 21st June, where they would enjoy live music and find out which entrants would become this year’s winners.
To mark the occasion, students, family and teachers came together for a night of food, fun and festivities and were delighted to discover our students had been crowned national champions!
Throughout the process the students, and everyone involved in supporting them, have championed the values of creativity and collaboration which I think is not only evident in their music video, but also in the photo below.
