King Edward VI School Enrichment Week 2024

Our students had a fantastic Enrichment Week last week. Whilst Year 10 students undertook their work experience week, Year 9 and Year 12 students had some amazing opportunities to be involved in a variety of enriching experiences.

This week has been the highlight of the year for many students and this year we had a greater range of activities on offer than ever before. There was a hugely varied and exciting offer taking place in and around school as well as residentials.

In school, students were involved in everything from coding and robotics, to animation and eco art. Some took part in a Bake Off, others screenwriting, music creation and language and culture workshops.

Further afield, students had the opportunity to go coasteering, skiing, cycling and horse riding, or undertake more leisurely pursuits such as golf, history and environmental visits and even escape rooms.

Even further afield, saw residentials to Ford Castle, London, and two separate trips to Spain.

Students have conducted themselves exceptionally well throughout the week embracing new challenges and repeatedly stepping outside their comfort zones. We were even contacted by a member of the Ryanair Cabin Crew who was working on the outbound flight to Spain because she wanted to give feedback on how fantastic, polite and respectful our students were on the flight. Always great to hear!

We cannot thank all staff involved in the huge task of planning and delivering so many varied activities enough for the time they have given to provide such fantastic opportunities for our students.
